I recently took delivery of a new Washburn, after it came back from the technician who tuned it and installed a sliding capo. But, I notice the neck is tilted compared to the drum head. Higher on left side than right side. The action is closer on the left than on the right.
And, the fifth string is right at the very edge of the frets, so when I use the fifth string capo, the capo pulls the string off the fret.
When I capo the four other (four) strings at the 6th fret, some of the strings are just touching the frets and the strings sound dead, like the neck is pulled backwards too much, so some of the strings touch the frets.....like the action is nearly " zero."
My other banjo (Fender) has none of these syptoms and has performed quite well for many years w/o the above problems.
Should I return it to the dealer and have the technician look it over (again) and explain what I see/found? Or will he tell me that is the way its made and live with it??? I'm not a technician, but I can't believe the neck should be rotated upwards on the left side etc. etc. Are these syptoms adjustable or is it made wrong?
