I have railroad spikes in the common places on my goodtime and I find they put those notes way to sharp(spikes are located in the middle of the frets and pin the string down hard). I've tried raisng the spikes with varying success..better inonation, but sting would pop out and or buzz on the spike. If I fret the 5th string with my finger, it`s in tune.
Anyhow, to hell with spikes, I need a reliable 5th string capo that will fret the note with reasonable inotnation from fret 6 to 12 atleast.
I`ve read about a sliding capo.
Is this somthing that I can install on my goodtimes slender neck. Im playing with a group of fellers, we play folk, blues, rock songs...lots of key changes, not much time to be tweaking/tuning the 5th string constantly.
Any other options...
