I have been working for a 2 yr. Jr. College in the IT department for last 13 yrs. Last year we got a new president and he decided to outsource the IT department. There were 6 of us total, 3 were told they would not get a new contract come Sept 1, but their contracts would be honored until then. Two of them already found jobs and left, other one still here. Other 3 of us were moved to other departments, so I thought all was well. Got called to the corner office yesterday afternoon and was informed do to budget cuts my position has been eliminated. So, as of Sept 1 I will be out of a job. Not sure at this point what I will do, but at least I have 6 months to figure something out. On the bright side, more banjo playing time. :-) Unless things get bad enough I have to sell it. I hope it does not come to that.
