I learned this dreamy tune from James Byran. It called for a tuning on the banjo which I seemed to discover. Not sure what the notes are exactly but, to get there, tune the banjo first to standard G, then tune the second string down almost an entire step. Then, adjust the fifth string way low.
Now, an Irish fiddler named Cleek Schrey told me this tune resembles a tune called "Galway Bay". I've since worked up an Irish tune in this tuning called "In Memory of Michael Coleman". This tuning works great for some G Minor or A minor tunes (if you tune the banjo up)
On guitar is James' daughter, Rachel Bryan Combs.
I hope you like!
