One of my students here recently imported an OME Minstrel open back banjo. I got to play it today and was mightily impressed. One problem with it though was the action was a little uncomfortably high for my student. It was actually uncomfortable for me also. The bridge on it was over 5/8" tall. can anyone advise whether this bridge is a proprietary bridge to OME or was it sourced from a particular maker? After Christmas we will be looking at lowering the action by sanding down the bridge feet a couple of mm. I am a little reluctant to do this as the design of the bridge may not stand up to sanding structurally.
