This is my Deering Goodtime:
My dad bought it at Merlefest maybe ten years ago, from the Deerings themselves (before the whole pamphlet thing started). It's pretty weird—we didn't paint it, it came that way, and it kinda... sparkles. I'm curious about whether it was a one-off experiment or there are other '80s-music-video-worthy Goodtimes floating around. Figured you guys might be get a kick out of a sparkly green banjo as well.
[Brief disclaimer: I play Scruggs-style, but love the openback Goodtime for practicing on my own—it's super portable in a way that resonators don't allow, and I take the Greyhound between my university and hometown fairly often, so it works out great. :D]
