Yesterday in the Darwin/evolution thread I mentioned I was given a very old rock by my aunt when I was a kid.
This morning, I stumbled across this story... and low and behold, I spotted this:
"To learn more about the planet's distant past, researchers investigated ancient volcanic rocks — 2.82-billion-year-old ones from Russia and 3.47-billion-year-old ones from South Africa "

Immediately I thought, my rock!
I could snap a picture of it and load it here tonight if folks would like. Its nothing pretty, kinda ugly actually.
Disclaimer: Of course I have to way of proving or disproving its age, but I would ask that if I do post a picture, people don't hijack the thread, because you are more than welcome to believe what you want. I am not out to prove anything... just thought it was a interesting coincidence.
