One of my banjos has a Grover windowpane tailpiece(late 30s) From the top side it appears to be virtually brand new but underneath it is cracked at the right angle and very fragile. Needless to say, I have removed it from the banjo. Has anyone ever used a methacrylate adhesive , a metal bonding type such as a 820 series Plexus to repair a Presto or windowpane style cracked like this? If this would work, the tailpiece could be repaired without replating. Short of this type of repair, who would be the expert repairman to fix the tailpiece, silver soldering perhaps and then replating. Thanks in advance for your input. Stuart
