I lucked onto an 1895 Brunswick pool table a few years ago.
It came with 25 cuesticks,3 of which were from the same era as the table, but had been sawn-off to 50" long ago.
I don't have any obstructions to 58" cues and have no need for shorties.
The collectible value of these old maple sticks is gone with the shortening so I'm going to make bridges from them.
It should be an interesting series limited to these 3 cues.Probably a run of about 20 bridges.
Maybe I'll start buying up cut-off cues...hmmm.
I just 3"ed the worst one(49" /electric tape holding funky dovetail together/sheared off dowel end)
I wondered about the butt end's color and just found the 1" scrap to sink like a stone when I put it in a bucket of water.
Appears to be black.brown ebony.
What a surprise to be able to also top the cuestick bridges with the ebony that came with them.
