Well this actually happened two days ago(Saturday), but it is still messing everything up. On Saturday, in broad daylight, in a town you would never expect it in, a guy tried to steal my mom's purse. I was sitting in the car, and she was going into a Dollar Store in Lancaster. I was reading a catalog (swords, knives, and self defense, go figure) when I heard screams. I have NEVER heard my mom scream, and figured it was just a kid upset they didn't get their way. I then felt a thump on the car, and saw my mom laying on the hood, and a guy tugging at her purse. I got out of the car, and tried to block him, he charged at me, I dodged it, and threw him a right hook. It made contact, and sent the guy whobbling. I didn't want to go after him, since I didn't know if he had a weapon, but my mom was screaming "he stole my purse!" so I figured she was ok, and took after the guy. I ran as fast as I could, the addrenaline pumping. I was about ready to tackle him (The whole time I was running, I was yelling some things that aren't very nice lol) when I slipped on the ice. I didn't fall, but it did slow me down. I got back up and was right next to him, when his pants came straight down, and he fell down. It was hard not to laugh. A guy then appeared next to me, and yelled for the purse, and the guy who stole it threw it at him, and he took it back to my mom. I stayed with the guy and asked "what the f.... is your problem!?" He said he was stranded. He went running, and went to the apartment buildings next to the Dollar Store, and broke into an apartment . I checked on my mom, then called the police. The guy had pushed her onto the car, so it constitutes a 3rd degree fellony, for robbery (theft with assault equals robbery, I guess). Yesterday we had to go in and both Mom and I had to make audio testimonies, or whatever they are called, and today my mom has to go to the doctor, and when he pushed her (she has back problems) she messed up her back and neck really bad. If you guys could pray for her, I would appreciate it. She has been through a lot this year (my brother getting deployed, his wife leaving him, plus more) and she is so paranoid now, it is just kind of changing everybodies lives here. It doesn't sound as bad as other crimes, but when she has been through this much, and it happens in a small town you would never expect it to happen, it just puts you on high alert. This guy has a huge criminal record, and that just makes it worse. If he has done 10+ crimes and hasn't learned a lesson, I think there may be a problem.
Thanks,
Rick
