I'm slowly digging up these old jam recordings from last year. Darned if I didn't find a few more...
This is an interesting take on the cool song Changes by Phil Ochs and recorded by the likes of Carole King, and Tony Rice. This was recorded sometime between early March and late April 2011 on a Zoom digital recorder, just sitting around in the living room and picking.
This song definitely qualifies as a "some thought required" song because it has so many chord changes. In this recording, I had only just come up with the "signature lick" you hear, and this recording is literally the 3rd time I had played this tune before. So I was still learning it in this audio snapshot.
This is me picking on my Nechville Athena, and Tyler Balkind is picking his Santa Cruz dreadnought and singing lead vocal.
I had not heard from Tyler in months and months, and he contacted me last month. It seems he has put the guitar down for a while. I hope he can find his way back to music, he is too talented to just let it go to waste, IMO. Oh well, So It Goes.
Enjoy.
