Some time ago, after working in liquor stores weekends as a part-time support to teaching for a living, I got burned out on beer.
Started drinking more wine...
Started drinking a little whiskey... just a little...
Last week, I finished a teaching gig and had some $$$ in my pocket, stopped by a local Pizzeria for some wings... and saw that they had "Woodchuck Hard Cider" in 2 varieties and available by the bottle.
I tried one of each, red and green... Liked 'em both...
I tried 'salting' the bottle top after a swig (preparing for the next swig) as you would with a Margarita... and fell dead in love with this stuff!
I've always like apples, with and without salt... and straight apple cider... but this Hard Cider thing is new... new to me... and I love it...
I also noticed that, even at 5% alcohol, it doesn't seem to wipe me out...
In fact, I drank 3 of 'em in a half hour while eating the wings... and it didn't hit me at all the way 3 beers would have...
I felt happy and elated, but not drunk, by any stretch of the imagination...
And it went very well with the mild-hot wings I was eating.
I also noticed that beer makes me feel bloated...
The hard cider didn't seem to have that effect...
I am hereby becoming a spokeperson for their product...
How many ciders could a woodchuck glug...
