Wow! I went to the grocery store this evening with salad fixins' in mind...
Got the fixins, and decided to add Kalamata Olives to the mix...
I actually eat them straight away... salad or no...
The addition of Feta cheese to a salad containing these olives is addicting to my Mediteranian-Italian self... Yeeeeoooow! I love 'em!
When I was a kid, my mom would stop somewhere special and bring home one of those white-folded boxes full of Kalamata olives...
Somehow, she got away from buying them when we moved to the country... they are little expensive...
As an adult, I've recently re-discovered these awesome, ancient... uhmmmm... snacks...
The local grocery store that I frequent the most has them where you can fill a container yourself...
They're in olive oil and DANG! They are GOOOOOD!
