This is a link to my last update which has a link to the original thread on this project:

The project is back in full swing. Two of the original WW participants have left San Antonio, one going to Ft. Polk, the other to be discharged. Both will continue their lessons via Skype. Lessons have resumed after the holiday break. I'm still trying to get our band scheduled to play at the hospital during one of their Thursday social hours. Looks like we might be able to do it on March 22. Thursday presents a schedule conflict with 3 of my band members but they are trying to get things moved around so we can play for the group on that date.
Again I want to thank everyone who showed an interest in this project and were kind enough to donate banjos and other bits to help us out with this worthy cause. One of the banjos suffered some serious injuries when it was involved in a collision with a pickup truck. The banjo teacher had leaned the banjo against the back of his truck so he could load it. He got distracted and forgot the banjo. He got in his truck and drove off and headed for a lesson. When he got to the lesson, he couldn't find the banjo. He went back home & found the banjo smushed in his driveway. I've seen the damage and can probably fix it. These infernal machines are a lot tougher than we think they are.
That's about it for now. I'll be repairing the accident victim and will be making 5 more straps to go into inventory to be used on any other banjos that might be purchased or donated. I built straps for all the donated banjos and the teacher thinks they're pretty good so he's ask me to make some more. For anyone interested in making their own strap, you can get the parts at Hobby Lobby in their leather goods section. I don't sell banjo straps.
