One of my Grover tuners stopped winding so I sent it back to Grover to collect on their lifetime guarantee. The rep asked me to call him... "Oh-oooh..." (always a bad sign)
Seems I have a tuner set last made in the 60's (maybe 70's?). Nothing they can do.... He said the set was worth 300 to 400 dollars! He advised me to look for another one or get this one fixed. Can anyone help? (PLEASE can anyone help!)
The important part is that the writing across the front should say: "STAR" "STAR" GROVER U.S.A. "STAR" "STAR" (Where "STAR" = an actual 5-pointed star).
Someone asked if they were nickel or chrome ... Is it possible it could be chrome plated nickel? The one I am handling right now is peeling off on my fingers! But underneath is also bright shiny silver.
