My wife and I have always eaten French toast differently. In her family, they treated French toast like pancakes and poured maple syrup over them. My family always treated French toast like scrambled eggs and we put salt and pepper on ours. Well this morning I was in the mood for some French toast, but the only bread we had was raisin bread with cinnamon swirls, so I decided to give it a try with syrup. It's great! I can't believe I've lived for 67 years without trying this. I think I'm converted.
I don't think I'll try syrup on my scrambled eggs though.
