Hello all, I'm Mike from England and very new to this place although I have lurked for a while.
I have been playing Plectrum banjo for about a year now and have decided to stick with it after falling out of love with bluegrass. I have been playing a lower end of the market Goldtone and more recently an Ozark PB3, but I now have an incredible urge to buy a superior instrument and have given up food for a few months to be able to afford one.
I have decided against buying another new instrument and am currently looking at two different banjos but I am finding it impossible to make a decision.
The first is a Pietsch which I understand used to belong to Sean Moyses and the other a Vegavox IV. Here are the links:

Both are no doubt quality instruments and I am instantly drawn to the looks of the Vega, but I have been told the Pietsch is just "something else". Quality of sound is probably most important to me, but I also want something that will last me for the rest of my life. In addition, being a lefty I will need to get which ever one I decide on switched.
I don't expect anyone to make up my mind for me, but some advice would be greatly appreciated as I expect both will sell shortly if I don't make my mind up.
Mike
