But...It's Not even spring yet! No...still, cabin fever?

t  The sun is out and making shadows. How neat. Still about cold..freezes at night, and about low 40s now. Not bad. Makes me restless. I washed rugs and hung them out on the clotheslines. Seems early. Snow all around here..but none in the yard. This shows the grass trying to grow!! (groan), and I see some flowers trying to get out of the ground. I look up at the snow. Oh my oh my. It's too cold out and a heavy coat is needed. The companion doned his heavy winter coat and I zipped it for him to go sit on the deck. Guess he has cabin fever some also.

Okay. The yard is sort of green and dotted with 'land mines' from the dogs. Unpretty. I really could take a shovel and help this. Hope I can get me to do that. Lately been dragging some. I notice that the donkey pulling the wooden cart out back is on his front legs on the ground. Looks stupid that way. I need to brace that donkey's front legs. It's an antique wooden cart...say about turn of the century. Can't remember where I got the donkey. Yard sale? Not sure. The cart is large, by the way.

Lunch is out of leftovers....and there are many and varied. I can make quite an interesting lunch anyway. Easy.

I got ambitious and cleaned the bathroom...and under the bathroom cupboard even. Took armloads of extra things to the storeroom. Nobody needs 6 bottles of shampoo. Daughter caused some of this with her 'shopping' at the beauty shop. She brought me a big bottle of real fancy shampoo. $50 and that was *wholesale*. Never have I used something like this. I shop very frugal. I paid her for it. Too expensive to be a gift for me.

Last night I sat and watch 'Million dollar rooms' in mansions. Wow. I saw beauty beyond beauty. Big big mansions. Done with maybe...one house had $50,000 in a kitchen counter even. Interesting. Not for me. I like what I have...small and rustic. I would need a string tied to the front door to find my way around some of those places. Elegant? You bet. I am really glad for those rich rich rich folks to enjoy these places. No envy from me...none.

It was kinda fun sitting and seeing all that elegance. I got up, went into my kitchen, and was so happy with my little cabin. I felt contentment and peace. Logs, Indian rugs, soft candles, mounts on the wall casting shadows on the ceiling....it's home. No place like home. I crawled under my blankets and snuggled up in the log bed. Fell asleep counting my blessings.

It would improve the place greatly if after lunch I took a shovel and cleaned up dog mines. I'll give that some thought.
