I purchased a new banjo head and a couple of Shubb Capos (to bring the order up to $50) early on the 24th of January. I said 3-5 days on the web site and I assume worst case delivery on the 30th as I was heading to the East Coast on the 31st. The following afternoon I received shipping information and the order was scheduled to be delivered on the 31st. I called immediatly and spoke to Cory who said it was not a problem because for $11 they could "redirect" the shipment to where I would be staying in Boston. The definition of "redirect" is to change direction. Since the item was still in MI, I assumed it would be redirected to Boston and may even arrive earlier.
I checked today, and they did not redirect the shipment but attempted to deliver it in Tucson on the 31st as originally scheduled and now it's in Phoenix heading who knows where! I need this head for a gig on Friday and now I'll have to find it elsewhere and pay overnight shipping!
I called Elderly and their response was mind blowing. Corey said it wasn't their problem. I then asked to cancel the order and refund my $11. He refused saying that they have no control over FedEx and they won't offer a refund unless I ship the goods back to them, and they will NEVER refund the $11 for the "redirect". I explained that the shipment was never redirected but they told me to take it up with FeDex. I then spoke to Toney Marsallo, their General Manager and he was unbelievable. Absolutely no sense of customer service. I explained that I assumed the goods would have been redirected for my $11 and that I was never informed that it would take an extra week or two and that redirect means change direction. He replied that it was common sense that a redirect would take an extra week or two and there was no need to mention that to the customer, and that I should complain to FeDex.
I have spent many thousands of dollars with elderly over the years and will not spend one penny more. These people just plain suck. I had a similar situation with Gold Tone a few years back and they went out of thier way to correct the problem. The people at Elderly were just plain insulting.
People, spend your money with folks who care!
Cya!
