Yesterday I was at the bus station in downtown Pittsburgh and I managed to snap the head clean off my Fender FB-300. I was strapping my gig bag to my backpack, and had just picked it up when the top of the bag swung down and cracked the head against the pavement. I didn't realize it was broken til I unzipped the bag to check.
So I read up on these forums as to the best way to repair this, and all I've come up with is the glue option. The split is clean, dry, and currently I have bagged both ends of the crack to keep them that way. I'll be seeing a luthier today about it, but from what I've read online and on this forum all he would do would be to glue and clamp, same as I was going to. Any advice RE glue types, technique, or clamp options? I was going to use Titebond, unless the luthier has a better suggestion, then secure it with self-locking nylon straps until it's dried.
Any thoughts?
