Well, I got to live a thrill the other day.
Last Sunday, I got to perform with John McEuen. I played a set of music with this great musician. We performed such songs as "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", "Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes", "Keep on The Sunny Side", "You Are My Flower", "Dixie Hoedown". John played guitar on the singing tunes, with me on banjo and Adrian Gross on mandolin.
My biggest thrill of the night was playing "Soldier's Joy" the way John and Earl did it; as a duet with John playing Uncle Dave Macon's part. That means I was allowed to delude myself and "be Earl" for two minutes of C-tuned bliss.
Very cool indeed.
